Whats the difference between:fragrances,perfumes,co鈥?de toilets?

There are official definitions for what makes a 'parfum' different from a 'eau de toilette'... but most companies ignore those differences and just use whatever word fits with their marketing.Whats the difference between:fragrances, perfumes,co鈥?de toilets?
De toilets are sweet smells and Perfumes are heavy smells.like opium.Whats the difference between:fragrances, perfumes,co鈥?de toilets?
nothing eau de toilette is the french word for perfume, fragrance is usually less expensive than perfume, cologne is for men
the scent of perfume or eau de parfum lasts longer than cologne or eau de toilette. perfumes are better used for special or more important events while eau de toilettes are good for daily use. perfumes are more expensive.
Officially any fragrance listed as an eau de toilets literally means toilet water... gross as the french may seem its actually an old terminology used to describe the strength of the fragrance... So basically any fragrance listed as an eau de toilette is meant to be diluted with water and therefore more subtle...
