Can a perfume/cologne actually delete the files of a CD or DVD?

My dad accidentaly used a perfume to clean a dvd and now it wont play on the dvd player it says disc error, and when i insert the disc in the PC it says that its empty. Can a perfume/cologne actually delete the files of a CD or DVD?
No, it won't delete them, but the chemicals, if harsh enough (perfume burns pretty good, it's a volatile liquid) can disfigure the burned surface info (CD burning just changes the color depth of a chemical coating on the CD to simulate the different depths that the ';holes'; on a master CD would have.

The darker the spot, the deeper the ';hole'; it simulates, but being as what's burned into that film is just an image of a ';hole,'; The perfume could possibly have erased some of the images-which I guess translates into erased data...Can a perfume/cologne actually delete the files of a CD or DVD?
