What's the difference between perfume and cologne for women??

The difference is the concentration of alcohol, or rather the ratio of perfume extract to alcohol. There are 4 most-commonly used formats. Starting from the most concentrated in perfume, therfore MUCH stronger in scent:


1) Perfume extract


2) Eau de Parfum


3) Eau de Toilette


4) Eau de Cologne


There is no precise % that determines which is which these days, as sadly most commercial companies do as they please with regards to labeling.


And NO, eau de Cologne is not 'for men' only- it originates from Cologne, in Germany, and the original recipe was for men %26amp; women based on Bergamot, Petit Grain and Orange. Perfume is sweeter and usually stronger ( and of course, more expensive !!! LOL ). The best is the pure perfume which comes in very small bottles or vials and solids !!!
