What is the ingredient in perfume or Cologne that will trigger an asthma attack?

There is something in cologne/perfume that's not in body spray that triggers my asthma. I went out with a friend and he had on cologne and my asthma starting bothering me. Before going out my asthma hadn't bothered me in months because I stay away from things that may trigger an attack. My friend felt bad but it wasn't his fault. This often happens with other things like bleach, ajax or any bad odor. What is the ingredient in perfume or Cologne that will trigger an asthma attack?
Usually it is just certain scents for me that trigger an attack. Your friend may just be wearing either too much or the scent is too strong for you. What is the ingredient in perfume or Cologne that will trigger an asthma attack?
There is no way to know which chemical is causing your reaction. As for cleaners you should only be around and use all natural non toxic cleaners and laundry products. Many commercial brands are registered pesticides.
Perfumes may contain a variety of oils extracted from different plants. It depends which you are sensitive. Body spray is much lighter than perfume. Perfume will contain the highest concentrate of the extracted oils so the scent is stronger and last longer. Colognes are right in between with some stronger than others. Body sprays also often are created from synthetic ingredients. They don't last as long and are not as strong.
I have asthma, I had it for 17 yrs

Im 21 now, and its better since I moved out of my parents where there was always smoke.

However, perfumes get me bad, cologne (mens) is not too bad, but female perfume, is soo strong, it chokes me up.

Some strong scented lotion that my wife uses also makes me wheeze.

Dogs, dont even get me started. Dander, dust, all that. Cold weather too.

All I can say if keep doing what ur doing, stay away from it. and always have ur inhaler with u.

I take extra Vitamin C too, cuz it helps protect the lining of lungs.
